Starting Oracle HTTP Server 12.1.3 Instances on a Privileged Port !!
Hi Techies,
In this post, will see how to install OHS12C and also how to configure OHS with privileged port 80.
Steps:
Starting OHS server instance:
Checking the instances access through URL http://ohs01.hussain.net:7777
Stopping OHS server instance:
Editing the httpd.conf file to serve Port 80 by the OHS instance.
.
After editing trying to start the instance, where it’s thrown an error to start.
For the error in the screenshot above, Oracle Support gave a solution to apply a patch.
Followed below Doc id to solve the issue.
Oracle HTTP Server on Unix – “Permission denied: make_sock: could not bind to port 80” (Doc ID 304465.1)
Note 1599750.1 OHS 12c Fails to Start Port Below 1024 on Linux 6 With Error “Permission denied: make_sock: could not bind to address”
Successfully applied the patch.
Do the below activity as given in the link https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1212/webtier/HSADM/getstart.htm#HSADM848
Now start the OHS 12c server instance, it should have to succeed.
